The deal, in plain words

Terms of service

What you can expect from Tessira, what Tessira expects from you, and the honest limits of a free product made by one person. Your CV stays yours throughout.

Last updated: 23 August 2026

The short version. Tessira is a free CV builder made by Cubic Pixel, an independent one-person studio. You need an account and a verified email address to use it. Everything you write stays yours — Tessira claims no ownership of your CV and takes only the narrow permission it needs to store, render and print it for you. The AI review is a machine-generated opinion, not advice, and it can be wrong; your CV's accuracy is your responsibility. There is no uptime guarantee, because this is a free service run by one person. You can export everything and leave at any time.
Please read this before relying on this page. These terms were written for a small independent product by its maker, not by a lawyer, and they are not legal advice. They describe the intended arrangement honestly, but they have not been reviewed for enforceability in any particular jurisdiction, and some clauses — notably governing law and the limitation of liability — carry bracketed items that must be completed. Have a qualified lawyer review this page before Tessira is relied on commercially.

1. Who provides Tessira

Tessira is provided by Cubic Pixel, an independent one-person studio, at www.cubicpixel.co/tessira. In these terms, "Tessira", "we" and "us" mean Cubic Pixel; "you" means the person using the service. Enquiries are handled by email at hello@cubicpixel.co; there is no postal address or phone line. [The legal entity name and registered address should be inserted here before commercial launch.]

2. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using Tessira you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not create an account. These terms work together with the privacy policy and the cookie policy; together they are the whole agreement between us about the service.

3. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • You must give a real email address that you control. Accounts must be verified by following the link that is emailed to you; until then, you cannot sign in.
  • Your password must be at least eight characters and contain an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a symbol. Choose something you do not use elsewhere.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us at hello@cubicpixel.co if you think someone else has access.
  • If you forget your password, a six-digit code is emailed to you. It lasts ten minutes, allows five attempts and can be used once. Completing a reset signs every device out — including any device you did not recognise.
  • One account per person. Accounts are not transferable.

4. Tessira is free

There is currently no charge for Tessira, no subscription, no trial period, no payment method on file, no invoice and therefore nothing to refund. Nothing on this page should be read as a promise that it will always be free — if a paid tier is ever introduced, it will be announced clearly, and using the free service today does not commit you to anything tomorrow. Daily limits apply to the AI features so that the running costs of a free product stay sane.

5. Acceptable use

Use Tessira to build CVs. Do not:

  • impersonate another person, or create a CV that misrepresents someone else's history;
  • upload content you have no right to use, or content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing or obscene;
  • upload other people's personal data beyond the ordinary contents of your own CV — a referee's name and contact details are fine if they agreed; a spreadsheet of contacts is not;
  • attempt to reach another account's data, probe for vulnerabilities, or bypass the authentication, rate limits or usage caps;
  • automate the service, scrape it, or drive the rendering or AI endpoints in bulk;
  • use the URL-fetch feature against anything other than a publicly accessible job posting, or in a way that breaches the target site's own terms;
  • use Tessira to generate deliberately deceptive documents, or to build a competing service on top of its endpoints.

If you find a security problem, please report it to hello@cubicpixel.co rather than exploiting it. A good-faith report handled privately will always be welcomed.

6. Your content, and who owns it

You own your CV. Everything you write, upload or import — the wording, your history, your photo, your job descriptions — remains yours. Cubic Pixel claims no ownership of it, does not use it to train anything, does not publish it, and does not show it to anyone else. There is no clause anywhere in this agreement that transfers rights in your content to us, and there never will be.

You can export any CV as a structured JSON file at any time, from the editor, without asking. If you leave, you leave with everything.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what your CV says. Tessira formats what you write; it does not verify it, and it never invents entries, dates, figures or achievements on your behalf.

7. The permission you give us

To operate the service at all, we need a narrow, practical permission from you. By storing content in Tessira you grant Cubic Pixel a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, encrypt, copy, transmit, reformat and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. Concretely, that means: saving it, rendering it into a template, printing it to a PDF, caching that PDF briefly so a repeat download is instant, and — only when you personally start a review — sending the anonymised copy described in section 9.

This licence exists only so the software can function. It does not permit us to publish your content, share it, sell it, use it for marketing, or use it to train models. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for short-lived caches which expire on their own within seven days.

8. Templates and the software itself

The Tessira application, its designs, its templates, the Tessira and Cubic Pixel names and marks, and the site's own copy belong to Cubic Pixel. You may use the templates freely to produce your own CV and to do whatever you like with the resulting document — including commercially, for your own job applications. You may not extract, resell, redistribute or repackage the templates or the software as a product of your own.

Custom templates you author inside the app are yours in the same way your CV content is.

9. The AI review and job match

Tessira can review a CV, or score it against a job description you have saved. These features are optional and run only when you deliberately start them. Before you use them, understand what they are.

  • It is an opinion, not advice. The output is generated by a language model. It is not careers advice, recruitment advice, legal advice or employment advice, and it is not a professional service. It carries no guarantee about interviews, offers or outcomes of any kind.
  • It can be wrong. It can misread context, misjudge your field, suggest a rewrite that is worse than your original, be confidently mistaken, or miss a genuine problem entirely. Scores and grades are indicative and not comparable to any external standard. Treat every suggestion as a prompt to think, not an instruction to follow.
  • You stay responsible. If you accept a suggested rewrite, those words become yours. Check that every claim in your CV remains true. Never let a suggestion push you into overstating a result, a title or a date.
  • An external provider is involved. Each run sends an anonymised copy of your CV to DeepSeek, an external AI provider. What is removed, what is replaced with a label and what is sent is set out in full in the privacy policy, and you can inspect the exact text before you run anything. Starting a run is your consent for that transmission.
  • Availability and limits. AI features depend on a third-party provider and are capped per day per account. They may be slow, temporarily unavailable, changed or withdrawn.

10. Job descriptions and links you paste

When you paste the URL of a job advert, Tessira's server fetches that public page and extracts what it can. You are responsible for having the right to fetch and store that text. Many job boards refuse automated requests, and Tessira will tell you honestly when a fetch fails rather than inventing content; pasting the text yourself is always available. Saved job descriptions are third-party text — Cubic Pixel claims nothing in them and makes no representation about their accuracy or currency.

11. Availability

Tessira is provided as it is, when it is available. There is no uptime guarantee, no service-level agreement, and no support commitment — this is a free product maintained by one person, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, may be affected by an outage at a hosting or AI provider, and features may be added, changed or removed. Where a change would lose data, reasonable notice will be given and an export path will exist.

Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. The export button is one click, and using it occasionally is the sensible habit with any hosted service, this one included.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Tessira at any time. You can delete individual CVs and job descriptions in the app; to delete your account and everything in it, email privacy@cubicpixel.co. Export first if you want your content — deletion is permanent.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches section 5, that is being used to attack or abuse the service, or where continuing would be unlawful. Except where an immediate stop is necessary, you will be told what the problem is and given a chance to respond and to export your content. If Tessira as a whole is ever discontinued, users will be given advance notice and time to export.

13. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, Tessira is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

In particular, nothing here is a promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that a rendered PDF will satisfy any given employer or applicant tracking system, that AI output will be accurate or useful, or that using Tessira will affect your chances of an interview or a job.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Cubic Pixel is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, loss of an application or a job offer, loss of goodwill, or loss or corruption of data, arising from your use of or inability to use Tessira.

Because Tessira is provided free of charge, the total aggregate liability of Cubic Pixel to you for all claims connected with the service is limited to [an amount to be agreed with a lawyer — for a free service this is commonly a nominal sum such as GBP 100, or the amount you have paid, whichever is greater].

15. Your responsibility for your content

You agree to be responsible for claims arising from content you put into Tessira — for example, a claim that your CV infringes someone's rights, or that it contains another person's data you had no right to store. If such a claim is brought against Cubic Pixel because of your content, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of dealing with it.

16. Third-party services

Tessira runs on Cloudflare, sends its transactional email through Resend, and performs AI reviews through DeepSeek. Those providers have their own terms, over which Cubic Pixel has no control. An outage or change at any of them can affect Tessira, and Cubic Pixel is not responsible for their acts or omissions. Their roles are described in the privacy policy.

17. Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the product changes. The date at the top shows the last change. For a change that materially affects your rights, notice will be given in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Tessira after a change means you accept it; if you do not, export your content and close your account.

18. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [the jurisdiction in which Cubic Pixel is established — to be completed], and disputes are subject to the courts of that place. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings there.

Before any formal step, please email hello@cubicpixel.co. Most problems with a small product are a misunderstanding, and are quicker to fix than to litigate.

19. General

  • If a clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
  • Not enforcing something once does not waive the right to enforce it later.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these terms. Cubic Pixel may transfer them if the product changes hands, and would tell users if that happened.
  • Nobody other than you and Cubic Pixel has rights under this agreement.
